Favorite spot in Amsterdam

Time passes by so fast! I can’t believe the weekend is already here.. I’ve had a good week, hope you all had a good one as well. Last tuesday I went to see Fanfarlo perform at Bitterzoet in Amsterdam. They recently released their third album called Let’s Go Extinct and I’ve been listening to it a lot.

As some of you might know, I am the editor-in-chief for Musicspotter (a Dutch music website), so if you would like to read my review about the concert of Fanfarlo make sure to visit Musicspotter (it is in Dutch though, sorry English readers). Here’s a picture we took of frontman Simon Balthazar.

One of my favorite spots at the moment is Six and Sons (Haarlemmerdijk 31). Downstairs they have a shop where they sell the most amazing interior and furniture items. They also sell magazines like Kinfolk, Cereal, Another Escape and Smith Journal. Upstairs is a great looking space where you can drink coffee, have lunch, work or read magazines (they have the previous mentioned magazines lying around!). My love for this place is beyond comprehension and I keep coming back to it every time I’m in Amsterdam. Sometimes you visit a place and you feel at home right away, that’s what happened when I walked in for the first time here a couple of weeks ago. When you visit make sure to try the hummus sandwich because it’s delicious.

Another nice fact about the cafe upstairs: every thing you see there is for sale. Including the furniture, prints on the walls and even the cups where they serve their coffee in!
